his essay aims to sketch both methodology and goals of the project of Gilson’s Nouvel Index scolastico-cartésien and: a) its relation with La liberté chez Descartes et la théologie; b) the development of Gilson’s interpretation of Descartes and its relations with Scholasticism. The Nouvel Index: 1) will be able to widen the Scholastic corpus to Scotism and Nominalism; b) is inspired by the methodology of the Lessico Intellettuale Europeo.
